My name is Marc, and I am a Designer based in Germany.

I pursued my studies in Integrated Design at Köln International School of Design (KISD / TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences). In 2016, I was fortunate to be awarded two scholarships that provided me with the opportunity to further my studies abroad at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (香港理工大). During this period, I honed my expertise in Industrial Design, Product Development, Process Optimization, and Mechanical Engineering.

I was also privileged to work as a tutor at the university, where I conducted classes and workshops, aiding fellow students in Prototyping and Design for Manufacturing techniques. Before embarking on my academic journey, I successfully completed a comprehensive three-year specialized education as a mechanic at MERCEDES BENZ Germany.

My journey has also encompassed diverse roles, including Industrial Designer, Illustrator, Design Engineer and Art Director across various companies and agencies. I derive immense satisfaction from being a versatile professional who integrates design thinking, programming, sustainability, engineering, and hands-on work to achieve comprehensive concepts and project objectives.

My day-to-day work is inherently interdisciplinary, spanning various domains within the field of design. During my university days, I collaborated closely with fellow students, both local and international, and their diverse perspectives on design. This experience allowed me to embrace a multitude of techniques for concept development and project realization.

During my time in Hong Kong, I co-founded ZERO - CØLLECTIVE with a group of friends.

Through this endeavor, we engaged in collaborations and experimental projects, venturing beyond cultural boundaries. Working across vastly different human perceptions within a global context was truly inspiring, especially navigating the nuances between

Asian and Western cultural behaviors.

Post my Hong Kong stint, I embarked on freelancing journeys in Shanghai and Taipei, where the experiences of travel, interaction with wonderful people, and nature's beauty collectively shaped my unique approach to design. Upon returning to Germany, I established Studio OBSCURUM° to tackle design challenges and engage in impactful projects, emphasizing Industrial Design and Product Management

for various companies and clients.

Since 2022, I have taken on the role of Head of Industrial Design for conservation programs. My responsibilities encompass developing professional breeding box systems for biological centers, integrating architecture, and collaborating with

governmental associations to protect species.

In my free time, I delight in spending quality moments with my beloved dog Bill, delving into the intricacies of sound engineering while fine-tuning one of my many synthesizers (a grand total of 292,837, to be precise! lol), or simply enjoying the company of friends in bars, cafes, concerts, exhibitions, or any activity that brings joy and fulfillment.

Warm regards, Marc
